Alexis Bethel, Owner & Yoga Instructor
Hi! My name is Alexis and this journey of personal transformation found me in 2012. I had just graduated from a top masters program and found myself at a consulting firm which "fit the bill" perfectly of where I thought I should be in life. Unfortunately, while my new job was exciting, I found myself more worn down than ever. I had begun living a life that was seldom about me anymore. Luckily, I had been practicing yoga on and off for about 8 years at the time and began to get more serious about my practice. Something about it both energized and calmed me, always leading me closer and closer to “me,” at which point I began practicing 4-5 times a week. My yoga practice opened me up to a new world that I now can’t imagine living without – a world centered on creating balance and ease in all aspects of life. I started to see yoga, and the world of personal growth as a viable career option. I made the decision to leave my career in international development, and got certified as a Life Coach and a 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher by Flow Yoga Center in Washington DC. In September 2017, I started my 500 hour yoga training with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City. For me, yoga is finding compassion and love in everything we do, everything and everyone we interact with. When I’m not yoga-ing 🙃, you’ll find me with my two Boston Terrier children, Truffle and Rooney 🐶

Britni Knowles, Barre Instructor
Hello! My name is Britni Knowles. I began taking dance classes at 9 years old and have been in love with it ever since! Dance has always and will always be a part of my life. I just can't stop! I currently takes classes in Tap, Contemporary, and Jazz at the Live 2 Dance studio, as well as assist in teaching our Tiny Tots (3-5 year old) Ballet and Tap class and the Adult Tap class. Dance and fitness has always been a passion of mine, so finding a way to make the two into a career rather than just a hobby was something I was always thinking about in the back of my mind. I stumbled upon Barre Fitness and immediately knew it was going to be in my future. So I decided to make the natural progression and turn my passion of dance into a profession by becoming a Certified Barre Fitness Instructor. I love teaching and I especially love creating the workouts because no class is ever the same, but every class will leave you feeling your best! I always say if YOU are making the effort to show up and come work out then I will ALWAYS make the effort to be sure that you leave feeling amazing and maybe a little sore! ;) The class is an all body workout and you will definitely feel muscles you may have never felt before. I can't wait to get started with you! :)

Hi, I'm Lauren! I've always been passionate about maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. I was first introduced to Yoga during my first year of college, where I played soccer at the varsity level. However, Yoga didn't become a fundamental aspect of my life until a few years later, when I found myself feeling uninspired and trapped in a master's degree program, and began to question my life's purpose. During this difficult time, I turned to Yoga, not only to stay active and relieve the stress of graduate school, but mainly to find myself again. Yoga allowed me to reconnect with my deepest, most authentic self. Through Yoga, I discovered a new sense of inspiration and a lifestyle I had yearned to embody; one that is centred upon unconditional love, compassion, acceptance and contentment, towards others and towards myself. To me, Yoga is the best way to: find balance and positivity between the extreme dualities in the world, find my centre, access inner peace and to reconnect with my honest love for life. I decided to study Yoga and become a certified Yoga Teacher so I could share these healing experiences with others. Aside from Yoga, my main loves in life are cuddling with my two Labrador Retrievers, Millie and Maya, traveling the world, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people! Nicolette Campbell, Life Coach
Hey! I am Nicolette Campbell. This journey of walking in my purpose as a certified Life Coach began in 2014. After graduating with my Masters in Organizational Learning and Leadership and landing a job and position that allowed me to interact with and mentor others, I began to feel a positive shift in my life. Unfortunately the company I worked for declared bankruptcy and I lost my job. At that point I felt lost, discouraged, with no sense of direction; I had lost my sense of self. During this rough time I met an amazing life coach who introduced me to a community of empowering women who helped inspire me to transform my life and myself. I was able to realise my passion and dream for helping, guiding and encouraging women, and turn that into a reality. For so long I’ve tried to fit in and be ‘regular’, but I’ve always had an irregular passion inside of me calling me to help others and become a beacon of hope. Being a Certified Life Coach, I truly enjoy helping those who feel like they are fighting their battles alone, and help them realize their true strength and potential. I’m new to yoga so I feel very blessed that I found Alexis, who has taught me the correct way from the beginning. Her attention to good form, correct posture and the breathing techniques is necessary to feel the full benefit of a yoga class. The energy in the class is always positive and I always leave feeling refreshed, renewed and revitalized. After many years of inflexibility, I’m now feeling more flexible and confident in my ability to achieve success with the guidance of Alexis. I highly recommend trying a yoga class with Alexis whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, you will not be disappointed. The quotes at the beginning and end of each practice often resonate with my feeling allowing an even deeper appreciation of yoga.
Colleen is an inspiring and grounded yoga teacher. She finds balance in her own practice through movement in conjunction with study. This allows her to challenge her students in ways they never knew were possible. It has been a joy to train with her over the past few years as I feel she has had a profound effect on my practice as well as my connection to myself.
Practicing with Alexis is joyful. Her classes are dynamic, energizing and fun. I love the way she presents a challenge and makes it attainable for all levels. She is very attentive to position and corrects you when necessary. Her cues are easy to follow and she always offers an alternative to any pose. I really enjoy her dynamic spirit and her smile is infectious.
Colleen is an exceptional yoga instructor. She is knowledgeable and motivating. Her talents are numerous and diverse. She sets the perfect environment for her classes. Colleen has a natural intuition as an instructor. She knows what each client needs. She gently adjusts and corrects positioning, as well as, challenges her clients to push themselves to try new poses-knowing their strengths and building their confidence.
